Truckers seeks lagos state governor's intervention over extortion,assault on drivers and vehicles damage

The truck drivers within nigeria port system known as Amalgamation which is an adopted umbrella body of maritime trucking association whose major activity is to move import and export goods in and out of Lagos, has begged the lagos state governor "Babajide sanwo olu " for quick intervention, to save them and their business from immoral people known as hoodlums,that everyday extort and assault them and also damage their truck and cause serious road accident.
The truckers called on the governor to make law against ganging up on trucks and extortion of drivers by hoodlums. They made the appeal in an open letter signed by their coordinator "Ridwan Bello" and copied to the commissioner of police, lagos state police command ikeja. Department of state service (DSS) lagos command, lagos state House of assembly and lagos state commissioner for transport. 
The appeal was made because of the recent accident that happened on the 7th of November 2022 along lagos badagry express Road that took the life of a police inspector and two others said the truckers.
This incident is one out of many said the group coordinator, in the process of extortion, violence/assault/ damage of trucks and death are been caused. The truckers are put in too much problems everyday 'he said.
The truckers begged the governor to urge the police and other law enforcement agencies to see it as part of duty to intervene when ever hoodlums maltreat truckers within the state and also told the governor to make sure the hoodlums presently at the police custody due to the incident must not go unpunished so that it will serve as lesson to others.
The truckers threatened to peacefully embark on a protest if there is no solution to their problems and withdraw of service to register their grievances. The protest will be to let people know that their lives and business are under anarchy of hoodlums on lagos roads.

NIGERIAN CURRENCY REDESIGNED

  Published by Arikawe Aminat  The Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has announced that the bank would release re-designed Naira notes by December 15, 2022. He also said that existing notes would seize to be regarded as legal tender by January 31, 2023. Emefiele disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday. The CBN said that it is worrisome that 85 per cent of the currency in circulation is being hoarded by Nigerians. He further urged Nigerians to proceed to their banks to deposit their Naira notes, adding that the deposit fee would be waived for transactions below N150,000. Emefiele added that the redesigning of Naira notes would help to curb counterfeit notes, as well as hamper ramson payment to terrorists and kidnappers.
