Telangana is dotted with palm oil plantation on the both sides, they are several farmers planting sapling of the oil palm tree in the field including Nagarjuna a 50years old man.
Nagarjuna had suffered huge losses previous year from rice cultivation on his four acre farm and now hoping that oil palm will help him return to profit .
Many farmers are joining the state's ambitious plan to become india's palm oil hub because they are inspired by the huge profit made by plantation owners like Narayana Rao.
Narayana Rao is from Andhra pradesh state,he began cultivating palm oil years back on his 30acres field in Khammam and has made a profit of more than 4m rupees.
The oil palm is used in nearly every product of daily use, from food items like chocolate, ice cream, bread and butter to cosmetic and also used as a biofuel component in diesel and petrol and has a variety of industrial applications.
The Talangana government under chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, has been promoting the crop and the state has plan to had some acres to the one they have before and also add more farmers .
Talangana would become the fifth largest oilpalm cultivator in the world says director of States horticulture department.
The aim is to be the state that can supply enough palm oil so that imports from Malaysia and Indonesia will reduce.
The country's dependence on oil imports to meet domestic requirements will reduce.
