My name is Roqeebat. I’m a student of Lagos State Polytechnic , Mass Communication department. I started sewing business in 2015 when i was small I use to use handkerchief to make cloth for mannequin. So mum was like i should go into sewing as i really love it so I become Thestylemistress as the brand name.
How much capital did you use to set up this business?
I started this business with a sum of #50000 in 2015 when my boss free me,so along the I bought an industrial sewing machine and industrial weaving machine for 350000. Among other tools that is needed for the work.
Did you share the capital with another person, or it’s sole proprietorship?
It’s Sole proprietorship. At times when i have lot of work and deadlines, I asked my sisters to help me with it.
How have you been able to cope with the constant power outage in this location?
The power outage in my vicinity is quite bad, so I mostly use generator at extra cost, at times i might have to queue for hours to get fuel.
What other challenges do you face?
Making deliveries, most of the dispatch riders aren’t trustworthy and unreliable.
How satisfied are you with the sales traffic?
I am not satisfied with it I must say, I go month without orders but I constantly run ads with influencers and it’s help most times.
How do you procure your products?
I have branded nylons,name tag and i add freebies to customers order to entice them.
How much is the estimated sales per month? It’s depends on how active I get customer but it’s around 40-60000 .
Where did you see your self in the next 5 years ?
Hmm A fashion mogul with a factory that makes ready to wear and custom made dresses and i will be known Globally .
How did is you intend to support the Nigeria economy and the society ?
I want to employ undergraduate,student and others to make work easier and limit unemployment.
