*WHAT IS YOUR INSPIRATION AND WHEN DID YOU START YOUR BUSINESS?*

My name is Akeredolu Abiola Hodel,The CEO of MAGICBRUSH Studio,I’m a makeup artist. I started this business fully in 2015 while in school and what inspired me into learning this skill is how people look when they get their makeup done and I’ve always envisage how it will look on me and that was the main reason why I ventured into makeup

*HOW MUCH DID YOU START WITH,TO SET UP BUSINESS?*

As at 2015, I started the business with the sum of #50,000

Back in 2015,#50,000 was a lot of money unlike now that you can’t start business with a hundred thousand naira 

There was a lot of struggle starting the business but later it was a success 

**DO YOU SHARE YOUR PROFIT WITH ANOTHER PERSON OR IT’S SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP**

I started MAGICBRUSH Makeover with my own capital, I own my business and I don’t share ownership with anyone 

*WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES YOU FACED IN THE BUISNESS*

The challenges faced were much but the one I think was the main challenge was at the early stage which was getting clients 

A certain time I got some makeup products thinking it will help me get more clients but for like some months,there was no one at all who patronized or call to make enquiry or to make bookin

That was a big setback for me and my buisness because it really disturbed me emotionally and financially

Then when you get the client,they complain on the prices saying you charge too much

Also going for upgrade classes to advance your skill can cost you a lot of money.

*HOW SATISFIED ARE YOU WITH THE SALES TRAFFIC*

It’s not every time this you get clients,there are time when there will be mad traffic,you’ll get clients who patronize you,You’ll get fully booked every weekend for Owanbe especially and Bride jobs which fetch enough money and there are times when you don’t get any customer for a month.

*HOW MUCH IS YOUR ESTIMATED SALES PER MONTH* 

I earn 80k to 150k in a month depending on the kind of client I get and I make sure to save atleast 50k to get new makeup products 

*HOW HAS THE ECONOMY OF THE COUNTRY AFFECTED YOUR BUISNESS*

The economy has really affected the sales of my business a lot because makeup products are now expensive due to the rise in price of dollars

Unlike 2015 when you can get go to the makeup store with 50k and you get lots of products which can last you a month,Foundation you get for 15k some years ago is now like 25k 

So the economy has really affected the makeup world in a negative way

 

*WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE FUTURE OF YOUR BUSINESS?*

The beauty industry is a broad industry and The word to describe this industry is innovative,It is advancing everyday and I believe I’ll surely advance with it and make a name for myself in the beauty world
