* WHEN DID YOU START YOUR BUSINESS AND WHAT IS YOUR INSPIRATION

My name is Abagun oluwakemi suliyat, the CEO of Bire Couture, I am a fashion designer. I started this business fully in 2017 after learning for 2(two) years, my Dad was of great inspiration to me because he was also a fashion designer. Also the way people look elegant and stunning when they dress in different styles also inspired me to venture into fashion designing.

* HOW MUCH DID TOU START WITH, TO SET UP YOUR BUSINESS?

As at 2017, I started the Business with the sum of #70,000.
Then in 2017, #70,000 was a lot of money because I was able to get a manual machine and some other tool that I need unlike now even #200,000 can’t start up a business.
There was a lot of struggle and challenges starting the business but later it was a success.

* DO TOU SHARE YOUR PROFIT WITH ANOTHER PERSON OR IT’S SOLE PROPRIETORSHIP

I started Bire Couture with my own capital, I own my business and I don’t share ownership with anyone.

* WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGES YOU FACED IN THE BUSINESS
There were a lot of challenges but the ones that I think it was the main challenge is getting clients at early stage of the business.
One of the challenges is also getting the complete tools that is needed for sewing and styling. At some point I might not even have more than one client in a month with no bookings atall.
There was a big setback for my business because it really affected me financially and emotionally because eventually when you get the client, they complain of the prices that you charge and some clients can be very picky and unsatisfied.
Also going for upgrade classes to advance your skill and getting new tools to upgrade your sewing level can cost you a lot of money,

* HOW SATISFIED ARE YOU WITH YOUR SALES TRAFFIC
There are time that you don’t get clients and there are also time that there will be mad traffic especially during the festive period, you’ll get fully booked for that particular period of time, your owanbe client, RTW and especially Bridals will fetch you a lot of money and there are times that you’ll have few customers.

* HOW MUCH IS YOUR ESTIMATED SALES PER MONTH

I earn up to 60k to 100k in a month depending on the sales traffic and the kind of client that I get and make sure to save at least 40,000 to get new tools for my work.

* HOW HAS THE ECONOMY OF THE COUNTRY AFFECTED YOUR BUSINESS
The economy has really affected the sales and growth of my business because materials for cloth and tools (machine) for sewing are now expensive due to the rise in price of dollars.
The price of the materials goes up daily and it reduces my own profit because customers complain about the prices of clothes.

* WHAT DO YOU THINK IS THE FUTURE OF YOUR BUSINESS?
Fashion deals with creativity,it is advancing everyday. Fashion never dies and I believe I will surely advance with it (have a fashion house) and also make a name for myself in the fashion world.
