E-FINANCE PLATFORM TO PROMOTE FINANCIAL LITERACY

Pax full founder and CEO Ray YOUSSEF disclose that a global peer-to-peer finance platform paxful has restated its commitment to promoting financial literacy among Nigerian youth as part of its efforts to drive economy growth in the country.This was disclosed at the 2022 annual digital Nigeria international conference and exhibition held in Abuja.
Youssef speaking during his presentation at Block chain day, ‘Blockchain for youth empowerment ‘ he noticed that the youth are the bedrock of the society, and they create growth and economic development which is vital they are empowered with financial education to become the nation’s  next great leaders.
According to him, financial education brings empowerment and entrepreneurship. The Nigerian youth are leading a financial revolution and bitcoin has already scaled tenfold compared to other regions.
Lastly, he mentioned that this will  foster that momentum and open Nigeria up to the global market, help local business to grow, create more opportunities for international freelancers and reduce Nigeria’s reliance on international governments who threaten to devalue local commerce.

NIGERIAN CURRENCY REDESIGNED

  Published by Arikawe Aminat  The Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele, has announced that the bank would release re-designed Naira notes by December 15, 2022. He also said that existing notes would seize to be regarded as legal tender by January 31, 2023. Emefiele disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday. The CBN said that it is worrisome that 85 per cent of the currency in circulation is being hoarded by Nigerians. He further urged Nigerians to proceed to their banks to deposit their Naira notes, adding that the deposit fee would be waived for transactions below N150,000. Emefiele added that the redesigning of Naira notes would help to curb counterfeit notes, as well as hamper ramson payment to terrorists and kidnappers.
